Plant a Tree

How it works

By ordering a tree to be planted as a memorial or gift, a thoughtful condolence or celebratory gesture is conveyed.

We offer:

  • An Unmarked tree  that is designated within the plantation and numbered by grove, row and tree position. It can be visited during plantation hours with signage to direct visitors to the tree.
  • A Marked tree that also has a designated location, but additionally has a 3’ x 6” granite marker placed in cement at the foot of the tree.
  • Row of 25 Trees that are marked with a 6” x 6” granite marker at the head of the row.

Regardless of the selection, a Certificate of Planting is mailed to the person designated as the recipient of the gift.

Why Tea Trees?

The Tea Tree, Camillia Sinensis, is harvested year after year by plucking the new growth of leaves. This new growth is called the “flush” and is harvested several times a season. Harvesting involves removing the “plucks” that typically consist of the bud and the first two leaves.

A mature tree that has been groomed for 4 to 5 years will generate enough tea for approximately 50 cups of soothing tea every year.  Additionally, about 10kg of CO2 is converted each year by the tree.

Moreover, as the plantation unfolds, you become part of the journey to create someplace beautiful for people to enjoy.

Gift Ideas a Tea Tree Planting

Memorial – This is the most common. Often sent in lieu of flowers. Especially if marked. Because of the longevity of the Tea Tree, it has a spirit of legacy. And a feeling of kindness to others with the tea ultimately produced.

Birthdays and Holidays – For the person that has everything or is difficult to shop for.

Milestone Events – Graduation, New contracts, Building or project completions, Marriage, New Baby, Engagements or just to tell someone you are thinking of them.

Client Gifts – The sustainability aspect of CO2 removal helps add to the gesture.

Pet Remembrances – Marked or unmarked, a nice gesture to help pet families get through a tough time.
